Eldora Mountain Resort presents the First Annual Eldora Escape, the 8th stop in the Mountain States Cup XC Series, and the NORBA Colorado State Singlespeed Championships. The Indian Peaks Cross Country Race highlights a festive day of championship racing, awards ceremony, prize raffle, cold beer and a great chance to hang out with old friends, or meet new ones during this laid back day of cross country riding.
Located just a half hour west of Boulder, Eldora Resort offers a magnificent getaway for a day of racing, relaxing and forgetting the worries of city life.
Event: Sunday August 15th The Indian Peaks Cross Country Race features one of the most pristine cross country courses in the Series. This virgin course utilizes Nordic terrain and features fast ski trails, undulating singletrack, tight trees, and technical descents. This is a real riders course and may remind you of your favorite backcountry ride. We will crown the Colorado State Singlespeed Champions to the top finishers in the Singlespeed Category.
Single Speeders: We want your feedback. Go ride the course and tell us whether you want to race the Red Course or Green Course.

Directions to Eldora Mountain Resort:
From the Front Range, drive to Boulder and go west on Canyon street, up Boulder Canyon to Nederland. Go south at the roundabout and follow signs to Eldora Mountain Resort.
From points West of Idaho Springs, Exit #240 at Hgwy 6 to Black Hawk. You will turn north on Hgwy 119 and go through Black Hawk, continuing to Nederland. Turn left at the first sign of town at the Nederhaus Lodge and Pink Flamingo Café, and follow paved road past High School to Eldora Mountain Resort.
Pre-Registration: Register online at warriorscycling.com Online pre-registration cut-off is midnight on Wednesday, August 11th. Pre-registered mail-in entries must be received by Monday August 9th. You may also pre-register Saturday afternoon from 4-7 pm at University Bicycles in Boulder.
Race Site Registration: Race day registration and check-in will take place in the Indian Peaks Day Lodge at Eldora Resort, from 6:30 to 9AM. Racers must register at least one hour prior to start. On-site registration fee of $10 will be assessed for on-site registrations.

Hot Tunes / Cold Beer Enjoy the action of the day from the Exposition Lawn outside the Day Lodge where you can view the exciting racing while soaking up the mountain sun.
First Aid First Aid will be located at the finish area. In addition there will be course marshals and medics at various checkpoints on the course. Hydration fluids will be available at the finish area. Restroom facilities are also at the start/finish area.
Awards: Results will be posted at the race venue as soon as the competition is completed. The awards ceremony will take place at the Indian Peaks Lodge. Cash will be paid to the pro and semi-pro categories and awards given three deep in all categories. You must pick-up your award at the award ceremony to receive it.
Colorado State Singlespeed Championships: We are excited to crown the NORBA Colorado State Singlespeed Champions at this event. State Championship Designations and points will be awarded to the top Singlespeed racers. In addition, a custom made DeSalvo Singlespeed frame will be raffled to the singlespeed participants.
Team Parking: There will be a Team Pit Area in the parking lot for teams to park trailers and tents.
Industry Expo: The Exposition area will be on the grassy lawn on the South side of the Indian Peaks Lodge.

NORBA License Information: NORBA no longer offers one-day licenses. Non-NORBA members will pay an additional $5 when registering. If you are an expert level rider or higher, you must have an annual license to compete, and can be purchased at registration. NORBA has separated Juniors into three categories, which include Junior Beginner, Junior Sport, and Junior Expert. Please register accordingly.
Indian Peaks Cross Country Race

In the backcountry tradition, this exhilarating 6.5-mile circuit (approx.) will thrill riders with fast double-track, challenging singletrack, tight trees, and technical descents. Additionally, we have designed a unique course especially for the beginner and junior riders that complements their skill level. The Sport, Expert and Pro level racers will compete on a more challenging advanced course that tests their all-around riding ability.

Course is now marked for pre-riding at any time. IMPORTANT – Please park outside the ski area parking lot gate where the parking and trail head for Jenny Creek is. You may be locked in otherwise!

START ALL CATEGORIES:
Start on the dirt road on the east side of the new Indian Peaks Day Lodge. Head south and up the ski area service road to a left turn where you head into the woods at Cheater’s Corner and onto 17th Avenue. Go right on 17th Ave to Meadow’s Loop where you turn right for a counter-clockwise loop of Meadow’s Loop and continue onto Phoebe Snow Loop. That heads into the rocky road of Twin Twisted Tree, where the intersection of the Beginner (Green) and Expert (Red) loops split.
EXPERT LOOP:
Turn right onto Siding and head up Rising Sun to Setting Sun Singletrack. Continue climbing on Setting Sun to the top of the course where you’ll turn left and down onto Rising Sun Descent. Make a very hard right onto Fatty Mills singletrack and continue descending through Bobo’s Bogs and soft singletrack to where you’ll rejoin the green course. Turn Right onto Buckeye Basin heading north. |

BEGINNER LOOP:
Continue past the Expert Loop turn on Twin Twisted Tree, and up a short rocky climb. Turn right at the top of the hill onto Woodcutter for a fast rolling jaunt through the woods on Buckeye Basin, keeping to the right, where you’ll rejoin the expert loop at the bottom of Fatty Mills. |

CONTINUE ALL CATEGORIES:
Continue north on Buckeye Basin, staying right on Upper Bogwaun, and then turn left at the intersection of the north branch of Rising Sun and Beaver’s Revenge. Go left and down on Beaver’s Revenge, down Mill Iron, veering right at lower Mill Iron for a short left hand turn, before turning right onto Peterson’s Return. Follow Peterson’s Return back to 17th Avenue, through the grassy meadow past the Nordic Center, through the Nordic Center gate and across the parking lot to the Start/Finish!

A free Shimano Kids Race will be presented for those 10 and under at the start/finish area. Classes will be determined based on the number of participants.
