Well a big thanks to all of you (racers, sponsors, spectators) that supported the 2006 Battle the Bear. Bear #6 proved that this classic spring race is only going to get better with age. It was a great day for racing and we were even told that some rattlesnakes came out to watch the race out on the course. The field was fast and competitive all day from the Juniors through the Pros. We had some absolutely incredible performances turned in by racers of all ages and abilities. Please check the results link below for official times and results. There will be numerous junior riders getting the invite to attend a special development camp sponsored by NORBA and USA Cycling based on their performances in the Alison Dunlap Junior Olympic Series Race at the Bear. Also in the senior categories we awarded the Dales Pale Ale Pro Men’s Champs, the Luciano Bicycles Semi-Pro Men’s Champs, The Chipotle Pro Women’s Champs, and to our favorite folks the single speeders went the Go Fast Sports Single Speed Championship.
Also our official Warriors photog’s over at Action Photographic got some great race shots; please do browse their site for your race photos. You can search by bib number or just browse their gallery and make your selections.
We would of course like to send a big thank you out to all of the sponsors, vendors, officials and crew that made the race so great. Jeff Westcott and crew from MavSports that provided all of the timing and scoring, and our NORBA race official Steve Truesdale. A very big thank you to our generous sponsors like Oskar Blues Brewery, Go Fast Sports, Luciano Bicycles, Hammer Nutrition, Chipotle, Coca Cola, and 180’s. Would also like to thank Nat & TGP, MoJo Wheels, All Terrain, OHCO, Dirt Rag Magazine, Great Harvest Bread over in Lakewood, Rebel Ribs, Mat at Rainy Face Massage, Aaron at Whole Body Health, City of Lakewood and of course the awesome Warriors Race Crew! See you al at Eldora and thanks again to all of you for making the 6th annual Battle the Bear such a success.
